Scope Real Services
Scope Real Estate Services, Inc. was established in 1994 to provide professional appraisal and real estate brokerage services to the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. The original principals, Kevin Kielsgard and Tom Tobin, built the company with a vision for uncompromising integrity and impartiality in real property valuation services. With this vision, the business quickly became one of the region’s more respected appraisal firms, employing between 6-10 contract appraisers, and serving a multitude of mortgage lenders, attorneys, and real estate professionals. Tom and Kevin added real estate brokerage to the operation in 1996, expanding their expertise to the more personalized local home sales market.
Scope Real Estate continued to thrive in these capacities until Federal lending laws began to discourage the operation of traditional small & mid-sized appraisal firms, in favor of the larger national based AMC’s (appraisal management companies), and until Kevin’s unfortunate passing in 2010.
Today Tom operates Scope Real Estate as the chief appraiser and principal broker, with a smaller scale of appraisal operations, but with the same vision for integrity and professionalism as when Kevin and Tom began this upstart company over 20 years ago.
